GBIT's 4-Day Week Boosts Productivity By 50% 

Last year GB Recruitment committed to the 4-day week experiment. One month in they are reporting a record-breaking month and an increase in productivity of more than 50%.

Inspired by the results of Microsoft’s Work-Life Choice Challenge in Japan, GB Recruitment introduced the 4-day week as of the 6th January 2020. The extra days leave is rostered between a Monday, Thursday and Friday in order to allow the firm to deliver the same level of customer service.

Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC) has been named as one of the best schools in the country for the progress made by A-level students.

New league tables released by the Department for Education show Hull’s employer-led school is ranked 15thof all schools and colleges in England, including fee-paying independent schools, for the progress made by students who took their A-levels last summer.

GB IT has moved from strength-to-strength in the past year securing a whole host of new clients including De Beers, Capita, Crown Commercial Services, NFU Mutual and more. The move is being considered a highlight in what could only be described as a hugely successful year which has seen revenue increase by 40%.

The company that turn three in May, have taken on two new recruits in the past year alone with plans to expand the team by an additional three members in the new year. The company boast a hugely successful staff engagement programme including flexible working hours, quarterly lunch clubs and ‘Beer Fridays’ - a time that is set aside to celebrate the team’s weekly achievements.

The firm are keen to highlight the success of the Tech Industry in Hull organising the city’s first dedicated Tech Expo back at the start of October. The event attracted over 2,000 people through its doors over a two-day period. The idea behind the expo was to really showcase how far the tech and creative industry in the Humber has come. The event delivered on being more than just a B2B event, with students from local schools attending in a bid to inspire the next generation of tech talent.
