Cutting-edge businesses and key speakers from across the country saw over 2,000 guests attend the Bonus Arena last week for the first annual Tech Expo Humber.
With 26 exhibitors present at the expo, the two-day event gave budding tech enthusiasts the opportunity to speak with companies including Barclays Eagle Lab, C4DI and award-winning Moodbeam about the ever-growing tech industry.
Attendees also had the chance to hear from a range of guest speakers, including the Vice President of Twitter Europe Bruce Daisley - who following his speech took time out of his busy schedule to host a book signing for his latest release.
Showcasing the best of the best in the technology sector, guests could challenge a robot to a game of Connect 4 with Hull University, and see advanced 3D printing in action with Makerspace Hull. The world-famous eight-foot-tall Titan the Robot was also a huge success with guests, entertaining the crowd with his amazing technological abilities and hilarious comedic antics.
Such was the success of the event that the Tech Expo was trending across Twitter for the full two days.
Antonio Tombanane, founder of the event, said: “The first annual Tech Expo was a real showcase of what the tech community can achieve when they work together, and it was great to see our younger generation so inspired and engaged.
“Businesses are collaborating and doing business together, and we’re now on a journey to put the Humber on the map for tech.
“This event wouldn’t have been possible without our partners, speakers and exhibitors, and with their help we hope to make the Tech Expo Humber a highlight of the calendar year. Here is to 2020, bigger and better!”
Connecting education with enterprise, Tech Expo Humber aimed to unite tech, talent and enterprise in the region – in a bid to inspire students to join the tech industry. A fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, the expo brought together some of the biggest global tech giants in one space.
Headline partners for this year’s expo included TES Enterprise Solutions, IBM, the University of Hull, Hull City Council, East Riding Council and GB Recruitment, alongside strategic partners Reach Solutions, Hull Live, C4DI, Connexin, Marketing Humber and AI Tech North.
