Yorkshire and Humber’s tech scene has been highlighted in the fourth report of London Tech Week and the UK Tech Cluster Group’s 12 Clusters of Tech series.
We’re thrilled to see so many familiar faces featured in the report, including several C4DI members and companies who we regularly collaborate with.
The report kicks off with some brilliant facts about digital and tech in our region, spotlighting that 100% of Hull’s homes and businesses have access to ultrafast broadband, compared with 8% of the rest of the UK.
KCOM’s Lightstream (ultrafast broadband) has put our city in the map as UK’s first full-fibre city and therefore has been noted as an Established Leader in the 12 Clusters report.
Following an overview of the tech landscape in our region, the report delves into notable Scaleup Stories, Ones to Watch, Healthcare, Industry 4.0 and EdTech.
Mobile App and IoT Development Agency Sauce, which has grown from three C4DI members to an expanding team of 30, features in the report’s Scaleup Stories section. Sauce has been recognised for their work with disrupting traditional industries and enabling global corporations to innovate.
Meanwhile, Digital Design and Fabrication company that was built by C4DI intern Alex Youden, has been crowned one of the Ones To Watch after rapidly growing its products and services, including recently working on innovative products to combat Covid-19.
Over in the Healthcare Technology Hotspot, you can read a little about Moodbeam’s incredible story. Co-founder and C4DI member Christina Colmer Mc-Hugh explains that their product Moodbeam One allows users to log how they feel and gives people an opportunity to see what makes them happy.
Additionally, our friends at Pagabo have been acknowledged in the report’s Industry 4.0 category for leading an industry-wide “The Future of Construction” initiative to pioneer fresh ideas and innovations that embrace new technology and advanced manufacturing methods.
Each month, the UK Tech Cluster Group and London Tech Week is exploring a new area of the UK - North West in January, Wales in February, West Midlands in March, East Midlands in April, East of England in May, London in June, South East in July and the South West in August.
