BIMSense provides quality Building Information Modelling, as well as consultancy and training services.
“Being a member of the C4DI has allowed us to cross-pollinate ideas with fellow members,” Scott Pilgrim, Co-Director of BIMSense.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) digitally constructs buildings before you physically build them, taking all of the models and drawings from architects, designers and engineers to create a 3D federated model.
Not only does this tech allow us to see the building before the foundations are even laid, it also gives engineers a unique opportunity to pick up on any design flaws and errors before construction begins. Meanwhile, after the handover, asset owners can be reassured that detailed specifications are stored within the model, saving them time and money in the long run.
On top of this, BIMSense is currently developing the software to make the technology even smarter. They have taken an old sector - the construction industry - and are continuously helping it to become more efficient through digital innovation.
The combined skills of co-directors Ian Yeo and Scott Pilgrim have seen the company have go from strength to strength. At the Hull Digital Awards 2017, the company won Best Startup of the Year. BIMSense has been also recognised across the region and is shortlisted for Best Startup of the Year at the upcoming Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards, whilst Ian Yeo is a strong contender for Business Person of the Year.
