Phil Benson is an entrepreneur with a passion for social enterprise.
The talented businessman has a number of projects under his belt.
One of these is Xing Education, an enterprise-based learning opportunity for school and college-aged children. Working with young people to help them develop key business skills, the Xing team frequently run enterprise days that enable students to set up their own smoothie bars, which they then continue to run during the academic year.
A multi-award-winning enterprise, Xing was also named one of the top 10 small businesses to have social impact at the O2 Smarter Awards.
Phil regularly speaks at conferences across the country, discussing enterprise, motivation and the diverse opportunities that exist in the world of business. Thanks to his unique knowledge of the youth demographic, Phil was selected to be on the Board for Hull 2017 during the city’s City of Culture year. Moreover, Inside Business Magazine has crowned him 1 of the top 40 entrepreneurs in the north.
On top of this, he also runs events and hospitality business The Drinks Flight. Providing racecourses across the country with delicious cocktails, as well as catering for corporate events, weddings, festivals and private parties, this has given Phil the experience to also open The Shambles Kitchen in York and Cafe and Bar 64 above Humber Street Gallery.
Phil decided to become a member of the C4DI as he believes it is the right environment for new, innovative ideas. Here, he has been able to connect with individuals and companies who are experts in their field.
