Last week, an afternoon of free workshops on digital content kicked off C4DI's latest event series, Creative Point.
C4DI community members Courtney Farrow, Matt Johnson and Tim Goodfellow have come together to organise regular events, meetups and workshops to inspire creative thinking in digital.
Creative Point comes in three flavours - INSPIRE, INFORM and LEARN.
INSPIRE talks focus on people’s stories, while INFORM events explore specific topics of interest and LEARN sessions offer a more intimate workshop-style experience.
On Wednesday 17 July, over 50 seats were filled to celebrate the launch of the new event and take part in three LEARN workshops hosted by the Creative Point co-founders.
“It's great to see a place where the creative community can come together and share ideas and support one another,” one of the attendees enthused on the day.
Every word counts because none of the words count.

We’re excited to be supporting Creative Point and looking forward to seeing how the event evolves.
Already, the team have had suggestions for future topics and talks, including starting a creative business, social media for education, how to predict digital trends and alternative forms of marketing, such as Patreon and crowdfunding.
Just finishing up after an amazing afternoon with #CreativePoint

If you missed out on tickets to the launch, be sure to grab a ticket for their first autumn event on Thinking Digitally in Arts and Culture. Executive Director of External Affairs at National Museums Liverpool David Watson will talk about his experience overseeing digital platforms and content creation at organisations such as Hull UK City of Culture 2017, English National Ballet and London 2012 Ceremonies.
“We’re so excited to welcome David back to Hull for this talk. So many different types of people can be inspired by his story and journey - whether you’re a creative working in arts and culture, or a techie interested in utilising incredible digital platforms,” Matt enthuses.
Find out more about upcoming events on the Creative Point website.
Do you have a story to tell the rest of Hull’s tech and business community? Get in touch with news@c4di.net to see how we can help you shout about it.
